HQ Global targets
small firms with
flexible space option
Small companies with unpredictable or ad hoc space needs are getting more attention from HQ Global Workplaces, the Texas-based outfit that offers Class A office space and a wide array of related services.
As large corporate accounts wane, small business “is absolutely something that’s been our focus for the past 18 months,” says Bonnie Deininger, area vice president in Chicago. “It really is a cost-effective way to have professional space, appearance and staff.”
Costs range from $50 a month to beyond $1,500, with options including video conferencing, telephone answering and mail handling. HQ Global has three locations in the Twin Cities.
Carla Bainbridge, CEO of Predictive Profiles, is a believer. She’s had office space for two years in HQ’s 8400 Normandale Lake Boulevard Tower in Bloomington. “It’s wonderful for small business,” she says, adding that costs compare to renting Class A space in the usual way, with a modest monthly bill for receptionist services. She says some add-on services are “extraordinarily expensive.”
Bainbridge likes the flexibility she can offer employees, such as the person who needed to move back to Hibbing. “I’m able to employ her because I can route the calls through HQ,” Bainbridge says. “One of my objectives is to provide good lifestyles for employees.”
