E Salon owner
gets spin as stylist
for ‘Ambush Makeover’

Susan Eyton, owner of E Salon in Wayzata, will be the featured hair stylist sometime this fall on the popular Fox show “Ambush Makeover.” A local cameraman hired to shoot an episode in the Twin Cities recommended her, and one day a small crew showed up at her salon.

“They popped in on the 17th of June and said, ‘OK, we’re going to go ambushing,’ ” Eyton says. They chose a woman in her 50s who was “a bit hesitant” about a makeover at first because her daughter’s wedding was coming up.

When the made-over woman joined her family in a restaurant that evening, Eyton’s look was a hit. “Her son said, ‘Mom, I love your hair,’ ” Eyton says. “I was screaming a little bit in the background” to get the ringing endorsement.

Eyton says the stylists donate their services for the show. “You’re just trying to get press,” she says. She also does makeovers on local TV programs, including KARE-11’s. “I think it’s fun. I was an educator for 14 years. It’s fun to share information,” Eyton says. “Hair is powerful.”
