Dent Kraft prez
wants to add
?old-world? techs

?Every dent is completely different and that?s the exciting part,? says Don Kavanagh, owner of Dent Kraft PDR in Plymouth.

His company practices paintless dent removal on cars, using many tools that he and his technicians have invented themselves. ?It?s an old-world craft,? he says, that he learned ?from a German fellow right out of college.?

It costs $85 to $150 to remove a dime-sized dent, which he says is one-third of the price of regular dent removal. Because no damage remains, the car is ?worth so much more at resale,? he says.

He?s now looking to expand the five-year-old company, and has launched a marketing campaign on the radio, by word of mouth, and via his Web site.

Kavanagh employs four technicians to do the work, and although his limiting factor to growth is hiring people, he believes he can expand by adding some of his subcontractors to the payroll.
